Bracadale Beach Blitz 2026

Between Thursday 21st and Sunday 24th May, in conjunction with the Scottish Coastal Clean Up project, Mowi and the Ocean Recovery Project, we plan to remove as much further marine debris as we can from around the coastline of Loch Bracadale, particularly those areas which are difficult to access without a boat.  We will also be collecting hard plastic and trawl netting for recycling.  As precise locations and timings will be weather dependent, this event will be updated nearer the time with specific location and timing information.  These are likely to include Ose, Ardmore, Struanmore, Ardtreck and on Sat 23rd, Loch Eynort.

UPDATE: The boat is on its way and will be based at Portnalong pier again!  The basic plan is that on Thursday 21st we will concentrate on removing debris from the beaches at Caroy (the inlet opposite Shagarry, not the main beach itself) opposite the turning to Balmeanach.  W3W “points.learn.spearhead” and various areas around Ullinish/Struan Beag – for this meet at the end of the road/top of Oronsay path at 1000hrs tomorrow.  If time and resources allow, we may also remove debris from Ose Point again.  Please bring gloves and suitable footwear, we will provide bags and a limited number of litter pickers!

On Friday 22nd we will concentrate on removing stuff from Ardtreck Point – meet at the pier at 1000.

On Saturday 23rd we will be at Loch Eynort from 1100 hrs – Parking is limited down at the beach access gate, but it’s only a short walk from the Forestry car park.

Sunday we will be hoovering up what we haven’t got already and cleaning anywhere else that needs doing!
