DESCRIPTION:Join us for a cleanup at Talisker Bay on the 25th of October\, 2025. Volunteers have already begun collecting some of the larger pieces of litter from the beach\, but we need more hands to gather the smaller pieces and ensure its bagged up and removed from the site. \nAs always\, please bring yourselves\, some gloves\, weather-appropriate attire and a snack. If you’re a brave cold water swimmer\, feel free to bring your swimsuit and towel\, too! \nWe will provide tea\, coffee and sweet treats to keep all volunteers going. \n**Travel:** \nDue to limited parking\, we will arrange a minibus to pick up volunteers from Dunvegan and Carbost. DESCRIPTION:Come on down to the untidiest beach on the whole of Skye\, there’s all manner of plastic ropes\, fishing crates and Fish Farm to pull off the foreshore and into the pre-arranged skip. There’ll be lots of free cakes provided by volunteer bakers\, so if nothing else you won’t need to bring a lunchbox.\n\nThe weather is forcast to be very hot and sunny so remember to bring sunscreen and a hat.\n\nOh yes\, we’re having a Beach BBQ after so bring something to grill on the Barbie. Veggy and Meaty BBQ’s available. Bring your own booze as well!

SUMMARY:Stein Jetty June 2025
DESCRIPTION:What an amazing turnout THANK YOU everyone. We cleaned the foreshore at Stein in the afternoon and then the jetty users spent the evening hauling abandoned gear out of the overgrown bushes and grass. The beach is brilliant\, the jetty area needs more work but what an awesome start. We filled one skip in 4 hrs! \n\n\n\nIt was fantastic to see so many people out\, not least our young volunteers who made a huge contribution. We were joined by our youngest beach cleaner yet\, at only 5 months old. WOW!\nDebris included 16 fish boxes of small pieces of banding wrap\, fine twine\, small fragments of net\, gun cartridges\, pieces of plastic bags\, picked out of the seaweed.
